Pure glacial water flows from New Zealand’s Southern Alps, through Lakes Tekapo, Pukaki, and Benmore—powering the country’s largest renewable hydro system and creating the ideal home for our King Salmon. Originally from California’s Sacramento River, our salmon are raised in fast, cold, mineral-rich waters at Mt Cook Alpine Salmon farm.
Without needing any antibiotics or pesticides, they grow strong by swimming in constantly flowing currents—over 2 million gallons of fresh water every minute. This natural environment helps produce healthy, fit fish with a clean, delicate taste—truly Nature’s Finest Tasting Salmon.

THE FEED
Mt Cook Alpine King Salmon uses only premium, sustainable, and GM-free feed from a trusted global supplier. Feeding by hand allows their staff to carefully monitor the salmon’s health and adjust nutrition based on weather and water conditions. Though it takes more time, this careful approach ensures our salmon thrive and receive exactly what they need.

Mt Cook Alpine Salmon was the first in Australasia to earn Best Aquaculture Practices certification, and in 2015 received a “Best Choice” green rating from the Monterey Bay Aquarium—the highest score ever given to a salmon farm.
